It was tolded that in the Guyana jungle the American naturalist William Beebe came upon a strange sight. The sight he say was a group af army ants moving in a perfectly round circle. The circle had a diameter of 1200 feet and it would take an ant aprociatmly two and a half hour to make the tour round the circle. Willian Beebe notist that the ants moved around the circle for two day before most of the dropped dead. What William say was what biologist call a ”circular mill”. The Mill is created when ant find themselves lost from the colony. In this situation the ants optain a simple rule: follow the ant infront of you. The result is the mill, a perfect round circle the leads to the death of many ant.
